CRAFTY CAKES – PIPING BASICS

With a little knowledge and practice you can decorate and add those little touches that will turn your everyday cake/cupcakes into gorgeous creations using buttercream and royal icing.

In this 3 session course you will learn how to pipe perfect borders, create beautiful flowers on your cakes.

No need to bring a thing – all equipment & icing  supplied.

Classes are for 2 hours  x 4 sessions OR 4 hours x 2 sessions

Cost: $130.00

SESSION 1

*    Making buttercream & royal icing for piping;

*    Learn the basics of making, using, holding and filling a piping bag;

*    Learn how to successfully use a variety of piping tips;

*    Pipe shell, dot rosettes, stars and reverse shell borders;

*    Use the ruffle tip to create stunning ruffles.

SESSION 2

 *    Learn how to pipe an assortment of flowers and of course the leaf.  

SESSION 3

*    Piping flowers continued…

SESSION 4

 *     Cover a cake and create a basket using the basket weave tip and now with all the new skills you have learnt, you are now able to fill your basket with beautiful flowers !!!

CRAFTY CAKES – FONDANT  BASICS

With a little knowledge and practice, you can cover a cake with Fondant

and decorate it with your own flowers .

In this 4 session course you will learn how to

* Cover a cake with ganache 

* Cover with fondant achieve sharp edges

* Cover a board

* Create beautiful Lillies using gum paste

* Learn to wire your flowers

Bring your apron & cake (see below) – all other equipment & icing supplied.

Classes are for 2.5 hours x 3 & 1 x 3.5  

Please Note: A cake mix & tins will be given at to each student in session 2

for them to make and bring to class on session 3

*    Begin Gumpaste Lillies & learn to wire them

SESSION 2  

*    Continue with gum paste Lillies and leaves

 SESSION 3

*   Prepare your cake for ganaching

*   Fill and ganache your cake in preparation for covering in fondant

SESSION 4

 *   Cover your cake with fondant *   

*    Learn how to achieve those sharp edges which are  all the fashion

*    Decorate you cake with your Completed Lillie’s
